My first piece on black linen

The pattern is for free at Leisure Arts.
The pattern was posted by Carol at Stitching Dreams.
The horse pulling the sled takes you
back to how winters used to be.
I quickly stitched this piece on 32 Count Black
Belfast linen.  .  The fabric on the back is the
fabric you see in the picture.  It is also black
and compliments this piece.  I found it really
hard to get a good picture.  I am going
out of my comfort zone and trying
different things with stitching.  For
years i have been stitching and there
is always something new to try.
I never made my own cording before but
I really like how it matches the finished
pieces.

Fabulous! Well done, we all know stitching on a very dark fabric can be really frustrating! :)

I'm stitching just the horse & sleigh part of that design right now - I've probably stitched it 4 or 5x by now w/ different variations - it's 1 of my favorite freebies ever! Brave, brave for doing it on black, especially such a high count!!! Looks gorgeous!

Not sure how one "quickly stitches" on black. Yikes! You did a great job, and the cording is perfect.

Thank you so much for the link, I love the pattern.

Oh, that turned out great, Cindy--I so love how things stitched on black just seem to pop!

Glad you're enjoying making your own cording now--it really adds so much to a finish when you match the cording to the colors in a design :)
