A Birthday gift for a special friend

This is a special Birthday Gift that I made
Carol at Stitching Dreams.  We have
been blog friends for many years and we
share the same birthday month.  I always
try to make it extra special.  I got this idea
from Vonna at The Twisted Stitcher.  When
I first saw the pocket watch, I thought
about Carol.  I know she has a snowman tree
and I thought this would be perfect for her.
The snowman is from the JCS 2009 issue,
Let it snow, by Glory Bee Designs.  I did
tweek the colors a little bit.  I have to say
this snowman is pretty cute.  I know
Carol received her gifts so I can post this
now.
This is a picture I took a little over a month
ago when I was going on my last break at work.
The colors were just amazing.  The Sunset was
really stunning.  It is much warmer today, it will
be in the 50's.  I like the warmer weather.
Happy stitching.

My first finish of 2014 - this is for a halloween exchange

This is my first finish of 2014.  This is
for a halloween exchange.  This piece has
a very long trip to make.  The pattern was in
the Just Cross stitch 2011 halloween issue.
How cute is frankenstein.  I had to take him
out and put him in the picture.  I purchased
him in Binghamton, NY years ago.  I was
visiting my older sister and he was
purchased in one of the shops.  I look
forward to displaying him each year.  I
am not a huge halloween person but he
is something i look forward to seeing each
year in the house.

I went to anthropoligie today and
what a deal.  They had these marked
down but then they gave an extra 50%
off.  I wanted to purchase the ceramic
fruit basket for a long time but i
wasnt going to pay full price.   Orig.
20.00 i only paid 7.00.  The colorful
bowl was only 3.00.  Dont you just
love a deal. Here is the best part of
my day.  I was told about a stitching
group that meets at panera each
saturday.  I went today and met a
bunch of great women.  They
made me feel welcome.  I look
forward to getting to know them.
Aren't stitchers just the nicest
people?  First goal of the year
met.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas
Blessings to everyone in the coming year.
As I read a bunch of blogs this morning,
its amazing the smile it brings to my face
to read and see what everyone is doing.
Everyone brings something to inspire
me.  Everyones decorations so different
and so personal.  Some of the photos
of the pets really made me laugh.  They
really are characters.  To my three
children: Amanda, Chris,  & Alyssa, I love you.

Another gift received and a fringe quilt

Myra sent a lovely pin keep.  How really cute this is.
I have never seen one made this way.   I love the fabric.
Thank you Myra.
On the last photo, I made a fringe blanket for my
sister.  She was a big fan of the smurfs when she was a
kid.   I hope everyone is enjoying the christmas season.
So hard to believe it is only a couple of days away.

Some house decorations

I have cross stitch ornaments throughout the house.

Cross stitch christmas tree

The first year I bought a table top tree and decorated with cross stitch ornaments.  The only other ornaments on the tree are from my daughter Amanda who traveled over seas and bought them back for me.

Small town christmas 2013

I finished small town Christmas from the 2013 cross stitch ornament issue.  This is a pretty detailed piece.  The beads are so  pretty.
