Two finishes

Two finishes. I started a stocking for my
son a couple of years ago. I decided to
finish the piece differently. I made a
pillow with his name and made the other
portion into an ornament. The detail in
the ornament is so pretty. I knew I wouldn't
finish the stocking and sometimes we
just have to use a little creativity. Not the
first time I have done this. The last
picture is my Dog Boomer. She is outside
the door waiting to come in. We have had
so much snow. I don't ever remember having
a winter with this much snow.

The ornament (sock bottom) is so nice . . all of those little stitches and outlining just make it pop off the page.

I was just reading about all the snow your area has had to deal with, Cindy--it sounds like the winter we got pounded with last year! Do hope it slows down soon...

I think that is a wonderful idea to use parts of the old stocking as ornaments--each of them is so detailed and beautiful.

Hope you have a relaxing weekend :)

Boomer sure is a cutie. I love that you made the stocking into an ornament - sometimes we just have to innovate. Love your 4th of July ornament - I am trying to do one patriotic piece per month so I have more to decorate with in the summer too.

I wish I hadn't seen this !!! it's been 6 months since I threw away (in a huge effort to declutter) my old cross stitch magazines... and for the first time I have a feeling of huge regret ! I remember this pattern... and love how you made it into an ornament !!!
