Finally I finished my Daughter's Sweet Sixteen Gift.
This pattern was in Cross stitch Crazy May 2008 Issue.
When I first saw the pattern if reminded me of my
daughter Alyssa. In the magazine they said you
can finish this in a weekend, they called it a weekender
project - NOT. Maybe if you started friday morning
and stopped sunday night without stopping at all. I
want to see someone do this in a weekend :)
The colors were hard to work with. I am very pleased
that it is done and with be taking it to the framer. My
daughter Plays the clarinet and also guitar, she is a free
spirit. She did not want a party so we went on friday
and bought her what she wanted, a new MAC laptop
computer and printer. My daughters like apple
computers. Her birthday is not until June 23rd,
but with the extra paycheck week in april I
purchased it when I had the money. I will
be taking her out to dinner and
also giving her this piece. Something she will
have forever. It's my 13 finish. Thank you to
everyone who leaves a comment on the blog.
I truly look forward to see what everyone has to
say. It make my day knowing I can share my
work with other stitchers.

Cindy, this is a great piece, I am sure your daughter will love it. I agree though, I don't see how they could possibly call that a weekender!
Great stitching Cindy! This will make a wonderful gift!
It's really a sweet design ~ great finish! I don't see how anyone could do it in one weekend though!
what a beautiful gift to give to your child... I will be 57 June 27th and I still remember the gift I got on my 16th birthday... the computer will be replaced but that gift from your hands will always mark this birthday... good job Mom!!!!!
wow this is wonderful, but finishing it in one week is really hard I think, also lots of backstitches in it
What a neat piece, and perfect for your darling! Great birthday present, and she'll be surprised by this gift, too. You're having a great stitch-year - 13 pieces! Good job!!
Very beautiful piece! I played the clarinet in middle and high school too! My niece also plays (she is 12). And so did my mom. As I wrote a poem about it last year, it is "My favorite kind of licorice stick" (quoting Benny Goodman)!
I think your daughter will have a wonderful birthday when it arrives!
That is such a neat design and such a wonderful gift for a teenager.
What a special gift for your musical daughter, Cindy. I'm sure she'll treasure it... I can't imagine anyone finishing that in one weekend (maybe one weekend per musician!!). She is a lucky daughter to have such a thoughtful mom :)
This is a very nice piece, sure your daughter will love it.
What a cute picture and great stitching! Happy Birthday to your daughter!

What a wonderful piece you stitched for your daugher. I bet she will love it.
Such a sweet and wonderful piece for your daughter. She will be delighted.
Calling this a weekender is hugely exaggerated There might be stitchers who manage to finish this in a weekend but I don't know any of them, lol.
What a fantastic piece for your daughter, it deftinately suits her to a T based on your description!!!
This turned out beautifully - what a thoughtful gift for your daughter.
What a beautiful piece for Alyssa, I am sure she will treasure it. Happy Birthday (a little early) to her!
