My first piece on black linen

The pattern is for free at Leisure Arts.
The pattern was posted by Carol at Stitching Dreams.
The horse pulling the sled takes you
back to how winters used to be.
I quickly stitched this piece on 32 Count Black
Belfast linen.  .  The fabric on the back is the
fabric you see in the picture.  It is also black
and compliments this piece.  I found it really
hard to get a good picture.  I am going
out of my comfort zone and trying
different things with stitching.  For
years i have been stitching and there
is always something new to try.
I never made my own cording before but
I really like how it matches the finished
pieces.

Two Finishes to Share

This is a Piece I made for a friends upcoming
50th birthday.  Her mom is 100% irish and her
Dad 100% Italian.  The celtic knot is really
pretty.  In the middle is a tiny golden heart.
This pattern was in the 2010 Cross-stitch &
Needlework magazine.  I am guessing the
March issue.

Happy Hearts is a free pattern that I
downloaded from Little House of
Needleworks.  I also added the golden
heart on this piece.

Ahh fresh pizza dough.  I used to make this all
the time for my kids.  It is the first time that
I have made it in Tenn.  The crust came out
nice and crisp just the way i like it.  On
a portion of the pizza I added Fresh
homemade Meatballs.  It is the best pizza
I have eaten in Tenn. so far.

A Birthday gift for a special friend

This is a special Birthday Gift that I made
Carol at Stitching Dreams.  We have
been blog friends for many years and we
share the same birthday month.  I always
try to make it extra special.  I got this idea
from Vonna at The Twisted Stitcher.  When
I first saw the pocket watch, I thought
about Carol.  I know she has a snowman tree
and I thought this would be perfect for her.
The snowman is from the JCS 2009 issue,
Let it snow, by Glory Bee Designs.  I did
tweek the colors a little bit.  I have to say
this snowman is pretty cute.  I know
Carol received her gifts so I can post this
now.
This is a picture I took a little over a month
ago when I was going on my last break at work.
The colors were just amazing.  The Sunset was
really stunning.  It is much warmer today, it will
be in the 50's.  I like the warmer weather.
Happy stitching.

My first finish of 2014 - this is for a halloween exchange

This is my first finish of 2014.  This is
for a halloween exchange.  This piece has
a very long trip to make.  The pattern was in
the Just Cross stitch 2011 halloween issue.
How cute is frankenstein.  I had to take him
out and put him in the picture.  I purchased
him in Binghamton, NY years ago.  I was
visiting my older sister and he was
purchased in one of the shops.  I look
forward to displaying him each year.  I
am not a huge halloween person but he
is something i look forward to seeing each
year in the house.

I went to anthropoligie today and
what a deal.  They had these marked
down but then they gave an extra 50%
off.  I wanted to purchase the ceramic
fruit basket for a long time but i
wasnt going to pay full price.   Orig.
20.00 i only paid 7.00.  The colorful
bowl was only 3.00.  Dont you just
love a deal. Here is the best part of
my day.  I was told about a stitching
group that meets at panera each
saturday.  I went today and met a
bunch of great women.  They
made me feel welcome.  I look
forward to getting to know them.
Aren't stitchers just the nicest
people?  First goal of the year
met.
